Copied this off another forum. Be good for IFPAC and anyone else interested to sign as well

Mickey

Hi Guys.

A petition has been started by an MLA to help save fish stocks, it includes all fish stocks but there first aim is to ban salmon nets. I have spoken directly to the Minister and pointed outthe issues with Pike stocks and suggested we have a complete ban on the killing of Pike.

They are looking at setting up a working group and want ideas for what laws we would want changed or improved.

Can you all please sign this petition, you can also leave a commnet on the facebook part. Make sure you add comments about changes to Pike laws.

I have also asked for ALL Game waters in the Public estate to be open up to Pike fishing even if means paying an add on to our licences.

Are the Federation going to sign this? Anyone else signed it?? This has made the news in the North and DCAL are going to be looking at Pike as well.

Check out this link, things are starting to get slowly moving.

At least there's a motion to get indigenous fish stocks discussed in the assembly. I'll have to drop thon MLA a wee letter.

I've signed your petition Mickey. Mind you petitions don't have a great record of achieving their objective.

Anyway best of luck, Fergal.
