The 2018/19 GO HIRE National Pike Championships continue on Sunday when the sixth independent qualifying competition will be held on a river venue in County Leitrim. We will be fishing a long stretch of river with both shallow, fast, weedy sections and a long deeper slow moving sections.
Anglers should check in outside Foxe`s Bar in Tooman from 9-30 to 10-30. Fishing will be from 11 to 4. Maps of the venue and how to get there from the check in will be given out at the check in. Anglers are reminded to not obstruct traffic or gates when parking, close all gates behind them and LEAVE NO LITTER BEHIND.
The entry fee is €15 and there is an optional €5 pool for the heaviest pike on the day. For more details phone Sean Dimbylow on 087 6194760 or John Chambers on 086 6057306
The GO HIRE National Pike Championships consist of 10 independent qualifying competitions and the Final. The top 6 anglers from each independent qualifier go through to fish in the Final.
The top angler in the Final will become the National Pike Champion and will captain the top 10 anglers from the Final in a 2 day International Team Challenge Competition to be held in England in October 2019. The Federation will cover transport costs, hotel, bait etc for the International. We leave Ireland on Thursday 3rd October and return on Monday 7.
To enter you must be a member of one of the 70+ clubs affiliated to the Irish Federation of Pike Angling Clubs (I.F.P.A.C.). If you are not a member of one of these clubs you can easily join one at the check in for around €10 for the year.
