Keady & District Angling Club held there AGM on Friday past. Good crowd of junior anglers turned up which was great for the club. No changes at the top table, I'm still the Chairperson, Brian Donnelly still the secretary and Paddy McKenna still keeping the purse strings tight!!

Even though the country is in a recession, the club in the past year raised around 2300 for two charities, which says a lot about the club members. Big year coming up for the Club as we're working with DCAL about developing a water in the area!

Couple of awards took place, heaviest Pike caught during Club organised events was nabbed by myself tipping the scales to 17lb 08oz and here I am accepting the award from Brian Donnelly.

Angler of the Year went to 15yr old and current IFPAC U-18 All Ireland Champion Sean McCooey. Sean had a great year, he won the All Ireland heat organised by the Keady Club, catching a 14lb 04oz pike and then went onto win the All Ireland in August. He won the junior section club events 5 times, recording an 11lb 12oz fish on the way. He's also the first junior to win the Angler of the Year. Well done Sean, below receiving his award from Brian Donnelly
