36 anglers attended todays Kingspan Kational Pike Championships qualifier on the River Annalee. There was a pretty strong flow of water which made fishing difficult in the shallower faster flowing stretches.
Some nice pike were caught with Pat O`Gradys 18 lb 8 oz being the best. Paul Martin had a 15-01 and Joe Clarke a 11-15. There were a good few pike in the 6 to 8 lb range.
The top 5 anglers who go through to the Final are
1st Pat o`Grady ...... (Ardee) ......2 pike 25-15
2nd Paul Martin .......(Ardee) ......3 pike 24-03
3rd Ronan McManus . (Dublin) .....3 pike 14-13
4th Joe Clarke ........(Kingscourt) 1 pike 11-15
5th Oliver Martin ..... (Ardee) .......2 pike 10-12
Pat O`Gradys 18-08

Pat O`Gradys 7-07

Ronan McManus with 9-03

Top 5

Duleeks Stephen Martin, Dom Gallagher and Fergus Dunne

Looking at the second snap above you would think that the river was hardly moving. That wasnt the case at all. It was flowing strongly and you needed a few swan shot to get baits down
